We're just come back
from Santorini, wonderful little Cycladic island: we
stayed at Kelenis Apartments, after making
reservation via web. The apartments are quiet, clean
and beautiful, linked to Ikaros hotel, located in
Karterados, at the center of the island. At few
steps there are buses from/to airport, Fira (the
capital, full of shops and restaurants, 2 km away),
Ia, and other villages and beaches of Santorini. But
the best way to visit the entire island is renting a
scooter or a moped.
Kelenis apartments are six and share a pool. Me and
my wife had one (kitchen-dining, bedroom w/tv,
bathroom w/shower, little terrace) for a week;
towels and linen changes, cleaning every day, free
park, breakfast: all was included in the fee and we
found it absolutely convenient.
We loved our stay, thanks also to the joung manager
Stathoula, always nice, helpful and hospitable; her
suggestions on places to visit, restaurant for
dining, etc., were definitely right and appreciated.
If you want to taste very good typical dishes go to
Savas Restaurant in Karterados: quality & cheap
prices. In short, a stay in Santorini really beyond
the expectations.
Comments:
We found Kelenis and were surprised at the price and
then amazed at what we got for our money. Our host
Stathoula was fantastic. She was
understanding with us not making it for 3 days due
to rough seas and no ferries and still had someone
meet us at the port. We even had a glass of orange
juice waiting when we arrived at the hotel. The
breakfast was a simple greek bread and jam but also
served with juice, tea, coffee and cake. Its about a
10min walk to Fira and along the way are every shop
you will need including a supermarket, laundry,
internet and several bakeries. Stathoula was
extremely nice and helpful and even delivered our
breakfast each day to our room. For a relaxing stay
its a great affordable option in Santorini and if
heading back would definately stay there again.
Hi
Loukas & Stathoula,
I
was probably one of your first guests at Kelenis
when I visited very briefly a couple of summers ago.
I am a friend of Maria and Francesco who made the
arrangement with Loukas for my stay which was only
for one night as I travelled back to
Syros the next day.
I do hope you remember me.
I
was delighted to see on your website (which is
number 1 on Google for kelenis, by the way!) that
you have got married and I send you both my very
best wishes for health and happiness together. You
both looked great in the photo on the Kelenis
website – many congratulations.
I
hope you have a great summer and are really busy
with lots of guests – I always tell people I meet
about Kelenis and the fabulous apartments and
studios you have.
With kind regards
Paul

"We really enjoyed our
stay here. The apartments are almost brand new with
everything we needed. Stathoula was fantastic with
helping us with various things. Don't expect caldera
or beach views but do expect a nice quiet area with
access to everything you need including car hire,
tour bookings, internet cafe and supermarket. Would
definitely stay here again".
Hello:
We
was there a few weeks ago and want to thank you
again for your hospitality and all your help with
the tours. Your place was lovely and we enjoyed our
stay very much. Your place was one of the nicest
places we stayed while in Greece, and Santorini is
very beautiful. Again, thank you and hope to see you
in the future. Ivette & Edgar Paredes
"Dear Stathoula,

"We made our reservation in the apartments kelenis
via web.
The owners received us a orange juice.
Mrs Stathoula gine us useful informations for the
island. Where we go,
what to see, where we would eat.. We liked
particularly our apartment.
They was clean, spacious, with traditional wooden
furnitures. Also had
cooker, balcony and individual bathroom.
Each morning, we had our breakfast in our apartment.
We used our
laptop in the reception of hotel.
Thank you Stathoula and Loukas for the
hospitality.." Trip Advisor April 2008
"I discovered Kelenis Hotel Apartments via a friend
of mine. She
showed me photos of the place and i decided to spend
my weekly
vacations there. So, i called them and i made my
reservation very
quickly and simply. Situated in a wonderful place,
at the center of
the island Santorini, it was so unique to be with
people ready to
service you at any time and willing to offer you any
kind of
information about the island. Although im from
Greece, it was the
first time in Santorini but not the last!! i loved
the island and when
your stay becomes joy at a place like Kelenis Hotel
Apartments, then
im sure everyone will enjoy his vacations!!!" Trip

"Went to a travel agent
in Adamas on Milos to book some accomodation on
Santorini. Kelenis Hotel was recommended and I
remember having seen it before on the Internet under
Santorini Hotels I think. The rate was 55.00 Euro
for a double at low season rates.
Upon arrival and check in, Stathoula made us very
welcome and showed us to a very nice 2nd floor room
overlooking the pool.
The place was new, clean and very well appointed
with some kitchen facilities and a nice big dining
table to gather around.
Once again, the bed was on the firm side (as all
hotel beds in Greece seem to be these days) but much
better than too soft!
The swimming pool was a pleasure to use. Breakfast
was included in the price and was simple but
substantial.
Stathoula helped us with hiring a motor bike and
answered any questions we had. We really sensed that
she wanted to do the right thing for her guests.
All in all we had a really nice stay and felt it was
very good value"

We stayed at Kelenis 2
nights in August. Like most of the people noted,
Stathoula was the one greet us when we arrived. She
offered us some orange juice and by the time we were
done, she told us our room was ready. She escorted
us to our room, showed us how to turn the
electricity on and off (it was unusual, but smart
way to conserve energy). She also answered all our
questions about the island. We wanted to take the
tour and she gave us a list of tours explaining what
each of them included. It was pretty clear that if
we were to start our tour from the old port, we
would have to get there ourselves by foot, cable car
(4 euros a person) or a dunkey. So, we ended up
buying a tour that included a bus transportation
from and to Kartherados. She also helped us get the
bus back to the port upon departure. The breakfast
was extremely basic (cereal, pound cake, bread). The
room itself was nice. Even though there was a shower
curtain in the bathroom, it didn't help much for the
water to flow all over it. That's why there's a
drain in the middle of the bathroom. Other than
that, the location was quiet and not too far from
Thira.
